Is it normal for the water to come out dirty/gray after installing the filter? Yes, that is normal. There is a carbon block inside the filter, and sometimes during shipping, the filter gets knocked around, causing some of the carbon to come loose. If you drain 2-3 gallons, the water will become clear.
